A Meditation for (Planner) Meltdown Moments

by Dawn Paoletta

October 2016

Dear perfect planner,

residing in my mind

I know you don’t exist

in ordinary time.

May I seek to use you

to manage, plan, assist

my coming and going,

my life, loves and lists.

May function, not fashion

determine my plans,

freedom not fanciness

the book in my hand.

Though discs, rings and leather

entice in varying ways,

let me not veer off course as

I plan and live my days.
